| Ronda | Ronda to Sevilla?? Posted: Thu September 8, 2005 03:57 PM UTC
I will be taking the train from Granada to Ronda and then planning to go from Ronda to Sevilla. I have been looking for ways to do this but can't find information anywhere. Is this possible?? Will be using trains and buses.
Please advice, Thank You. |

You can take a train from Ronda to Bobadilla, then a train from Bobadilla to Sevilla

I went to check out the schedules on www.renfe.es but they didn't even have a Ronda station in their drop-down list. My Lonely Planet guidebook says that the Ronda station is on the Bobadilla-Algeciras line. I wanted to see how long it would take to get to Sevilla from Ronda. You might want to call them: 952.87.16.73.
Apparently the bus takes 2.5 hours and is operated by Los Amarillos (952.18.70.61). I'm not sure if you have to transfer in Algodonales or not.

There are buses direct to Seville or via Jerez. Or you can take a train. You would have to re trace your route on the train back to the famous Bobadilla station which is where you can change but likely you may need to wait. Spanish rail web site is no good for anything but direct journies from one main station to another main station ! But you can trawl though the site and look up different services. For example, the route you want for Ronda to Bobadilla is Algeciras to Bobadilla ! Easy ! Then Bobadilla to Sevilla. Then work out the timings.
Or you could take a bus journey. COMES (a bus company based in Cadiz) does Ronda to Jerez and they also do Jerez to Sevilla. The nice new bus station is now opened at Jerez next to the nice train station ! See COMES website : www.tgcomes.es And I think that Portillo bus company also does a direct run that starts in Marbella via Ronda to Sevilla. There may be others.

Forgot to mention that Los Amarillos is the other bus company that does Ronda-Sevilla - Get some times info from: http://www.touristbus.es/frgrsamar.htm

Thank you all for your replies. Now I have it clear, there is a train but I have to change in Bobadilla or I can take a bus. This is good to know. I will be traveling to Spain on Sept 30 (Barcelona) and planning to be in Ronda on October 10, then heading to Sevilla, Toledo, Madrid and then back home.
Muchas Gracias.

Yes, Renfe only lists major stations in their drop-down menus. You should use "Quiero viajar desde: mínimo 3 letras" from their homepage: type at least 3 letters of the departing station and click on "Realizar consulta", and you will be shown all stations (small ones too) with those letters in the name.
