| Padova | buying shoes in Padova Posted: Thu September 8, 2005 06:41 AM UTC
I have heard Padova is a shoe paradise. There are supossed to be shoe fair on Saturdays wiht affordable prices. Does anybody know anything about this? I am going home from Bolzano and I could make a stop in Bologna.
Any hints about shopping in Bologna would be great. Thanks |

For what i know, on every sat morning there is the general open air market in Prato della Valle. Also shoes, but not only.
Easy to find, if you have a general map of the town. I'm not so up-to-date, but i think the shoe sellers are the same that goes other days in the nearby towns. Ciao Francesco

I don't know about Padova, but I have heard that Firenze (Florence) is quite good. But maybe a little expensive.

....in addition to Francesco's posting:
the shoes are not of superior quality, though, you might find some low middle quality shoes for very affordable price. The prices are generally from 10 to 50-60 euros, however, those cheaper one (10-20 euros) are made of fake leather which almost look like genuine leather. The real shoe paradise is in Tarvisio, which is north of Udine.
