My husband & I will be cruising out of Valpariso in January 2006, but need to spend one night in Vina del Mar. We hear it's a lovely area, but are very confused as to where we should stay. Also, my husband must have air conditioning and we noticed that most hotels either don't have it at all or just omit it from their listing of amenities. Anyone with hotel information is requested. Price is not necessarily an issue. Thank you.

The best hotel in Vina is the Casino. There is another 5 star hotel under construction due for completion shortly but don't know the name yet. You need to book well in advance for Vina in January as it is peak season here. If the Casino is full try the Cap Ducal. It's small but exclusive.
