Do you have a work permit? If yes, look into newspapers or go to the employment bureau. Most probably, you have not, then all the jobs you list are illegal for you. The easiest ways are to go on with studies (MBA or PhD, for instance), or trying to find a company which specializes in the Middle East and needs a person with fluent non-Moroccan arabic.

I don't have a work permit...but I think that working as a baby sitter or such part time or simple works like a resturant or cafe don't need that..people might hire me without a residnece permit as long as it's a job without a contract..what you think?

True,
you can get those jobs without a permit - but as Yaroslav said have a look in the (local) newspapers and just walk into some restaurants and bars to ask or look if there is a paper saying they want staff... Another good source (especially if you look for other expats where you want to work as babysitter) is www.expatica.com. Good luck! p.

You're welcome - but we're not in the same city, Ede is about an hour away from Dordrecht! But the Netherlands is not that big anyway!
Good luck, P.

I am now lost. Do you say you also do not have a residence permit? Then you can stay in NL only for the duration of your visa. Possibly there is smth I do not understand.
I second the advice to look at www.expatica.com, they have a lot of useful stuff over there.

Gaydaa,
For a real job you need a working permit and a Dutch SOFI (social/fical ID) number. Without that you only can get illegal jobs or simple things like babysitter for private families. Why don't you look for a job in the field you have a degree (btw is your Sirian diploma recognized in The Netherlands)? I think you could find a government job as a translator. Have you visit a CWI office yet (Centre for Work and Income)? People there should be able to tell what your possibilities are. The Dordrecht branch is at: Spuiboulevard 298 3311 GR Dordrecht Good luck, PJ

In the supermarkets there are often message boards with handwritten advertisments asking for cleaning ladies or babysitters.
But I would stress that getting a residence permit and a working permit is really the best thing for you. Are you studying here, for instance? PJ, sensible advice!

Dear Anke-Thea..
Thanks alot for your reply..in fact I don't have a residence permit yet and what annoys me is that I came to Holland to marry my boyfriend but here the rules don't accept me getting married till I get a paper from the Ducth embassy in my country and I don't want to leave my boyfriend at all... so till we find a solution I am looking for a job now which doesn't require a residence permit.. Best Regards, Gaydaa.

Gaydaa,
I am afraid you misunderstand Dutch laws. You definitely can marry your boyfriend, no problem. But for getting the residence permit, you really need either (i) to go back to Syria, apply for the special visa for family unification (MVV), and your boyfriend has to prove that he has salary high enough to be able to support you financially (that smth above Eur 1400 per month, I do not remember exactly), or (ii) find a real job, then your employer has to take care of your work and residence permits, and for this he/she has to prove that no suitable candidate for the job can be found in the EU states; or (iii) start your studies or enter the country as an au-pair, and trying to solve your problems during that period. But the visa with which you have entered the country will expire in several months, and all the jobs you can find without the permit are illegal. It is of course not a big deal taking illegal jobs, but it will not help you to stay in the country. Sorry for this.

Hi
As a EU citizen I found a lot of "red tape" living in NL with my English partner but I could have got work & obtained the visa afterwards but I know it's not so simple for none Europeans. However I would have had to obtain similar documentation (proof I had not been married before, an official copy of my birth certificate etc.) so in the end I decided it really wasn't worth the hassle. I can suggest a few groups that I belonged to when I lived in NL - for people who have moved NL to be with their Dutch boyfriends - they can certainly share their experiences with you. Once you are properly registered your Dutch partner can claim back some extra tax if you are not working (I think it is even paid directly to you - I'm not sure) but my Australian friend (who moved to NL to be with her Dutch boyfriend) had this extra allowance to spend as she chose. http://www.europats.com/ There are some more links on this page as well http://www.coolabah.com/oz/hollandsite/expatsites.html All the best PJL
