Tulsa Visiting
Posted: Tue September 6, 2005 12:25 AM UTC
I am expecting to visit Tulsa later this year, November if all goes well.

I will be there Monday to Friday and I'm looking for any tips, suggestions and thoughts people have about what to do and what to see. I will have limited time as I should be mostly working daytimes, but I will have some time and my nights will be free.

Thank you

HughBT,
Please take a look at my Tulsa page for suggestions on things to see and do and places to dine. I've tried to highlight the places that I would be proud to take a visitor to Tulsa. Two highly recommended activities that you can get to after work are the Oklahoma Aquarium and the Philbrook Museum of Art. The Oklahoma Aquarium stays open until 9:00pm on Tuesdays. Philbrook has extended hours on Thursday when it is open until 8:00pm. Both are well worth visiting. I suggest you combine your Philbrook trip with a dinner at one of the restaurants in Utica Square or on Cherry Street (see my Restuarants page for suggestions). If you go to the Aquarium, I suggest eating at one of the resturants in Riverwalk Crossing. It is a riverfront complex just south of the Aquarium that contains several very good restraurants (Los Cabos - Mexican, Gina & Guiseppe's - pizza, Tsunami - Asian, Melting Pot - fondue). For a calendar of events try the newspapers: Tulsa World (http://www.tulsaworld.com/cals/aande/indexResponse.phtml) or Urban Tulsa Weekly (http://www.urbantulsa.com/events2.asp?section=0). Hope this helps. Let me know if you want more info on anything. Enjoy your visit!

Here is a website of Tulsa Events. There seem to be quite a few possibilities in November.

Here is a list of the best nightclubs with live music in Tulsa.

If you feel that you must, you could try one of the many Native American owned casinos in and around Tulsa, but be warned winning is even less likely than it is in Vegas.
