Tarifa (Cadiz) Travel Forum

I passed through Tarifa on the way back from Tangér a few months ago. In the port, I saw a statue, and I have been dying to know who it is. I cannot find the answer anywhere. Does anyone here know?

I would appreciate it so much if someone could identify this statue in Tarifa. For some reason I am just really curious as to who it is.

I think you mean the statue of Guzmán el Bueno, a middle-ages king and local hero. More info here: http://www.andalucia.com/tarifa/home.htm

I appreciate your reply, but unfortunately I do not think it is Guzman el Bueno. I have found a picture of that statue here:

And it is different. The statue I am asking about is right by the water at the port. Guzman is in the center of town.

Is the Virgen Del Carmen, is the Virgen of the fisherman/ Sea, thats why the 16th July there are always parties at the coastal cities and villages.
