Any suggestions on great Cabernet or Pinot wineries in the Napa / Sonoma area? Will be there for the harvest season.
Thanks! M |

Ah, the harvest in Napa Valley. Niebaum-Coppola Winery in Rutherford has a members only festival as well as celebrating 125 years of the Inglenook Chateau. I will be there. Grape Harvest time is the most exciting time of the year in all of Napa Valley. You can visit this winery for the Cask Cabernet and the Cabernet Franc, both excellent. There is also a display of Francis Coppola's movie goodies including "Oscars" in the Chateau.

There are so many! Here are just a few...
Chimney Rock Winery, Napa -- tasting fee, but for a small fee you can sample Cabernets selling for $100 a bottle - very very good Laird Family Estate, Napa -- Pinot Noir and Cabernet, newer winery, excellent quality, not crowded, no tasting fee, open for tasting, although they don't advertise that heavily Michel Schlumberger, Sonoma, Dry Creek -- excellent Cabernet and Pinot Noir, call ahead to make an appointment for tasting or a tour, no fee, beautiful location Artemus Winery, Carneros (sourthern Napa) -- Pinot Noir -- the Carneros region is known for excellent Pinot Noirs because of cooler climate. Interesting winery off the beaten path, contemporary art gallery, beautiful views, no tasting fee Have fun! Karen

Great winery Griff, but the problem is the limited cases of Pinot Noir. Only enough for you and me.lol Don't spread the word or they'll be sold out before I get there, the end of September.

I went to school with Ray. Their Red River Pinot is supposed to be excellent. I will ask him if there are any hidden supplies Larry.

Griff, if there isn't any when I get up to Napa Valley, I'll know you flew down and drank them. What is the limit on bringing wine into Vancouver? Thanks for saving a case for me, if you can. Salute.
