Hi all

Istanbul to Ephesus on a night bus - would you say that's ok? safe? dependable?
Is Varan a reliable company? Is it possible to take a night bus back? Crazy?

Have been reading about other suggestions to go to Izmir first then take a bus, but there's little time and am doing things in between conference days.

So, since there's so little time, where can I book a day tour? maybe can return in future for a propoer visit....

Al though Varan is more expensive comparing to the other bus companies in Turkey , its probably the best one !There are lots of Travel Agencies in Selcuk -Ephesus but you can also hire a guide at the entrance of Ephesus ancient site and spend the afternoon in Sirince which is the most characteristic and interesting old Greek village.You can get there by minibuses that get off every half an hour at the bus station in Selcuk.

Varan and Ulusoy are the best bus companies in the country. Very safe and comfortable, you will see.

Definately safe, and dependable! Esp with Varan and the other expensiver bus companies. I, female alone, had to take a lower cost company overnight from Izmir to Istanbul - no problems there either.

Book/buy your return bus ticket when you get your ticket to Selcuk.

Have to agree with fairychimney - Sirince is worth a visit too.
