Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Ko Tao Siam snorkelling!
Posted: Mon August 15, 2005 02:29 PM UTC
Hey!

Can anyone tell me if Ko Tao will be that busy (accomodation wise) this Sept? I'm more of the mind to just roll up and into a guesthouse but my fellow travellers are getting panicky about booking! can i reassure them that they won't be a problem getting rooms?
I'd like to stay in Ochia on north sairee beach - is that a guesthouse or seperate bungalows? Also what are the current diving prices for Siam diving?
Any answers and any other tips on Ko Tao would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers,

Tasha

Sorry, don't know the answer to that, Tasha.
But you might know the answer to my question, as you're a snorkeling kind:
Have you come across a place called Laemson Nature Reserve? Supposedly a good place for diving etc. What's it like, if you have, and has it been hit by the Tsunami?
Going there in November.

Hi Peter

Sorry i've never heard of that place - have you tried the guidebooks with different spellings?

No need to do the booking for Kao Tao, really. As soon as your feet touch the pier you will be offered the accommodation and the diving places there by people from different resorts and diving places. Just make sure that you have the name of the place in your mind and go with them.

Thanks for that - i've heard that Siam diving is a good one - do you have any other recommendations? Don't really want anything upmarket - just somewhere friendly and clean

Try the Budda View diving resort. It's the only place I usually hang around with.
