| World | Travelbear would like to start a world tour :-) Posted: Sun August 14, 2005 06:06 PM UTC
Hello dear travellers,
everytime, when reading about the adventures of LFK (little flying kiwi) world tour, my little plush heart starts bumping - it's all so exciting :-) I must have looked that heartbreakingly that my "mom" Trekki finally allowed me to also start the "Travelbears' trip of it's life", when I'm turning 2 years old (in november) - provided I be good and am allowed to stay here or there, among friendly VT-ers. Mr. G from VT also already allowed that I post my question here - thanks Mr. G ! I already got invitations to Molde (Norway), Albuquerque (New Mexico), Brisbane (Australia), Karlsruhe (Germany). So now I am daring to ask which parts of the world I also should visit. I am a friendly, happy looking little bear, happy and satisfied with all and everything, I am clean, I am educated not to sack the fridge, I speak spanish, german and english. I like nature, flowers, trees, can get along with all animals and people. thank you all in advance, and I hope, my question is not too offending :-) yours little Norbaert, travelbear - all over excited PS: if you want to answer, please answer either on my homepage or on my mom's (which is: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/80c21/ ) |

Norbaer,
since we already met in "person" - you are always welcome here!!! I hope you know that! One question: how will you travel? By yourself in a parcel or with people who volunteer to take you from one place to another? Anyway, I wish you a fantastic journey and I do hope this journey will take you to Karlsruhe sooner or later!!! Best wishes (also to your "mome" who will terribly miss you!) Christine

Hi Christine,
on behalf of the bear (who is already sleeping, as it is 10 p.m. by now), I would like to answer your request, which bear has forgot to mention: Bear will travel in a post parcel, similar as LFK is travelling. He will be equipped with little blanket (god knows where he might end up, and he should stay alive, and not freeze himself to death !), little pillow, little backpack - and I try and find some little gifts for his hosts. As they are 3 bears in total (1 in Mendoza, the second in the Alps somewhere climbing summits and the third with me), the bear is only allowed to start his world tour if one of the others is back with me, which will be mid of november, when Mendoza bear is coming back with me to Germany. THANKs for allowing bear to visit you in Karlsruhe, I know he will have MUCH fun ! Which brings me to the idea to thing about a meeting like mid november, in Karlsruhe, like the "bear-1st-personal-hand-over-for-his-world-tour" meeting ? :-) all my best and thanks again Ingrid, aka Trekki (bear mom)

Wonderful - it is already in my notebook!! I am just afraid that we will be a couple of people fighting to be the first hosts to Norbaer! But tini58de and Madschick might later hand him over to either petpaho or Bernd_L or Ujamaflip or Nemorino or Tessi - boy, he might not see a parcel for a long time and still have many many hosts on his tour....
Do not forget to equip him with a little paper roll (I might be able to sponsor that), so that all of the hosts can sign that paper to make sure that a record of his travels is kept! Can't wait!

Hi Norbaert,
I am a little bear living in Sweden and it would be great if you could visit! I love to travel and after my latest travel with my VT mom, I started my own pages here. It is hard to find time for it though, hahaha, as she is always online, leaving me not that much time to be on the computer :-) I am not as adventurous as you though, as I don't travel without my travelmom. But it would be great to have you over here for a visit. I live west of Stockholm, close to a city called Eskilstuna. If you want to come over, just write to my travelmom Simone, she is often online: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/1c048/ Nalle Björn

I like the Idea of a hand to hand exchange world tour.Parcel post is very undignified.
Ill be going from the wash DC area to belize in october and would love to pass your baby along if he's in either area.I have a mouse puppet named Ricky Rat who has been my motorhome mascot for 15 years and has toured the continent with us.He gets paid rather well to prop open the fridge in between trips (keeps the mold out). My faithful servant deserves a vacation of his own. .If you'd like him for collateral I could send him in reverse towards you.

Hi Chris,
on behalf of bear (he is still sleeping) - yeah, he would be excited to visit Belize, the only problem is that he can start his travel not before in mid november ! First, his older brother bear (living currently in Mendoza) needs to come back with me to Germany, before the little one can leave. Hand-to-hand travel rather than parcel sounds nice, tough. Let me think over it. And he would be thrilled to meet Ricky Rat, maybe he even can help him to take care of the motorhome :-) Of course, Ricky is welcome here, in that mid of Germany part, too :-)

Thanks for considering my proposition.I'll let you know when my plans firm up.Hand to hand would be a logistical nightmare but sounds like a fun idea.My fear is that poor Ricky will wind up stuck somewhere like North Korea.I go to Cape Hatteras NC every November if your fellow would like to go to the beach let me know.
I swipe a garden Gnome from my mom and take him with me every once and a while- then put him back with some travel pics.Needless to say Mom's a little confused over this! ----Enjoy the Summer--CR

Hey, this is also my fear - those poor rats and bears - if they end up in asia in a soup or something like that !! Arrgg, hate the idea !
Beach sounds nice, I think, bear never saw beach before. It would be a nightmare, too, to get him out of the water and dry him, so I'll better add a lifeline too in the backpack. Let's consider hand-to-hand or parcel - or even a mixture, if there are more locations for him to go. Aehm - Asia ? Nevertheless - he would love to see China and Korea and Thailand and Japan, provided, the host takes care that he won't end up as plush sashimi :-)
