Greetings, again,

Does anyone know the conditions/status of the trails to the huts in the High Tatras following last winter's devastating storms? Since we're spending a good chunk of our trip in that area, i need a head's up!

Also, try to google it here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=tury+vysoke+tatry&btnG=Google+Search. The search and results are in Slovak or Czech, but many of those sites have an "english" option. To help: trail=chodnik, condition=stav, tura(y)=tour. Good luck

Thank you so much--this is very helpful! have you been there? we're gonna just go for it--i figure they could use the tourist $$ in that area.

We were there in July and everything was fine.
Only some of the cycling paths were still closed.

My pleasure to help out. I haven't been there since the disaster. Supposedly 50ooo

manhrs have been volunteered there so far. I would not sweat it too much - you'll have enough to tour once there. Rely on local info. Have a good time in Vysoke Tatry!
