| Damnoen Saduak | Visiting Damnoen Saduak Posted: Wed August 10, 2005 09:08 AM UTC
Hi..
I'm a new member at Virtual Tourist.. I have a plan to visit Bangkok & surrounding areas.. Is it easy to visit Damnoen Saduak by ourselves taking a bus instead of taking an organized tour? I've heard that to go to Damnoen Saduak we can take Bus No. 78 from Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal. Is there anyone who can help me giving the information about ticket price from Bangkok to Damnoen Saduak? My plan is going to Damnoen Saduak early in the morning and at noon back to Bangkok to go to Chatuchak Thanks a lot before |

It's a US$7 roundtrip bus ticket from Khao San Rd to Damnoen Saduak floating market, from the travel agencies on Khao San Rd. There are stops on the return to a wood carving factory (interesting!) and I think a small temple (but if most of the passengers in the bus don't want to go it can be skipped).
The bus leaves around 7am from Khao San and returns around 3-4pm.

You can take the Air-conditioned bus which leave every 30 minutes from 6:00 a.m from the New Sai Tai Southern Bus Terminal on Boromrat Chonnani Road to Damnoen Saduak Bus Terminal (the fare's around 50 Baht but not sure how much for this time)....and about 2 hours you'll arrive About 2 hours then take "Song Theaw"(mini bus)to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market or Ta Lard Num Damnoen Saduak in Thai (1 km.).....try to get there no later than 8:00 A.M...after that you can rent a water taxi for look around the canals and markets...the fare's around 300 - 400 Baht per hour.

Hi Heywinks & Peerapa..
Thanks for your reply I also receive an option from another VT member. She suggested to visit Don Wai Floating Market which is nearer from Bangkok than Damnoen Saduak. It can be reached by taxi from Bangkok. From there we can go to Soun Sam Pran at Nakorn Pratom to see Elephant Show Have any of you ever visit this place? If so, what is your opinion?
