| Palenque | Getting There Help! Posted: Wed August 10, 2005 03:44 AM UTC
I am trying to put together a trip to Palenque. I would be flying from Dallas to Mexico City to Villahermosa. How does one sugest getting from Villahermosa to Palenque? Are there bus services? A professional travel company in Villahermosa? Must one rent a taxi for the 89 mile journey? I do not speak spanish and am apprehensive about this part of the trip. Would appreciate any help from other travelers.

There are bus services and travel companies. Trip takes 1.5 hours by car and probably about 2 hours in a bus or tour. You can even rent a car and it will be easy to get your way, just make sure not to get away from the main road. Taxi for that trip would be around USD$70 TO USD$120.
Most people won't speak English but you can get along without major trouble. Make sure to visit Misol-Ha and Agua Azul cascades (30 and 50 minutes from Palenque). Enjoy.
