Just wondering if anyone knows of a nice Ma and Pa type B&B in St. John s that is resonably priced.

The prices of B&B's in Newfoundland seem related to the size of cities. So the city-area B&B's seemed to be all in the same ballpark when we visited last year. Here is the page from Newfoundland tourism pages with all the B&B's in the Avalon area (which includes St. John's): http://www.gov.nf.ca/tourism/mainmenu/wheretostay/
We personally stayed in the Five Oaks B&B, but it is near Conception Bay some 20 minutes from downtown St. John's. We found most of the Maritime B&B's were Ma and Pa types.

I can recommend a few now. Here is one I just left last night. It was very nice. It's 4 and a half stars and I got an off season rate of $69! The breakfast was fine dining. THe bed perfect.
