Hello:

Although I already posted this question under the "Caribbean" forum, I thought it would probably be better to post in each of our island stops.

We are only in Belize City for 1 day. What should we absolutely not miss?

The water is the main atraction in Belize--Go snorkeling
.Belize City itself a bit scruffy so unless you've got a hotel with a good pool or something get out of town for the day.You could take the water taxi to ambergris cay or caye caulker for the day and walk around-Long boatride though.There are some good rafting/cave tours that will pick you up and drop you off from your hotel.The zoo is just outside of town-some of the tours will stop there on the way back.---Enjoy

I would stick with whatever tours the ship offers in order to be certain of returning on time. If it offers Lamanai. Xunantunich or Calakmul, go for the ruin. If it offers Altun Ha, go snorkeling instead.

Sorry-I didn't read the question right.I though you were staying in BC-I didn't realize you were on a ship.Xunantunich is cool and so are the ruins at Cahal Pech.The last person is right- get a trip from the ship so they'll wait for you if you're late.If you're not too sunburnt already any snorkel trip is worth the effort--CR
