Where are all the sheep gone?

Hiya!

We were driving through the west of Ireland for 3 days recently and I realised that there weren't as many sheep left as last time I was there (2001). The only sheep we actually saw were in Connemara. Inishmore was basically sheep-free zone. They seem to have been replaced by cows? Can anybody tell me what happened? Just wondering.....

hi, the reason there are not as many is because the price of sheep is nearly nothing so the farmers dont bother with them anymore.
