Jiuzhaigou Travel to Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou and Tibet - 2 weeks, end October
Posted: Sun July 31, 2005 05:11 PM UTC
Hi there,

I will be travelling to the above places for 2 weeks and would like to check if anyone familiar with the route i'm using and if yes, please be so kind to share with me :

Chengdu - Leshan/Emei
Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou by bus
Jiuzhaigou - Huang Long
Huang Long - Songpan
Songpan - Wolong
Wolong - Xining by train (i'm not sure how long. My intention is to get to Lhasa, first from chengdu to Xining by train, then to Golmud, then bus from Golmud to Lhasa. I am not sure the total travel times yet. If flight is cheaper, we will consider that option)

Look forward to hear from you all..
Cheers
Cecilia

Jiuzhaigou Wolong - Xining by train? All aboard the Panda Express!

I've never heard of the Wolong-Xining Express Rail. You better plan on a Chengdu-Xining flight instead, if Qinghai is somehow a must-see destination for you.
The bus from Golmud to Lhasa is notoriously miserable. If you've got nothing better to do in Xining then catching the train to Golmud, then I suggest you fly from Chengdu to Lhasa instead if you only have 2 weeks for this entire expedition.

Thanks for your reply, Confucius!!

I guess gotta take flight then. I have heard of the challenging route. Anyway, it's a bit tough to plan from here, we may change plans anytime when we reach there. Tks!
