when is the best time of the year,
to visit tonga?i"m looking for nice
dry sunny days,and not too cool in
the evening,or am i aiming too high

According to my reference "Landfalls of Paradise": "From May to December, the dry season, the weather is as good as any found in the tropics." Those islands are at 20S, so you want the sun in the N, as it is now.

i was in tonga in january (of 1998) and it was amazing! the weather was just superb...well, like all the neighboring islands. but honestly, the island of tongatapu really sucks...probably the second most disappointing place in the pacific that i've been (nothing exceeds the armpit of pago pago) anyway, go out to eua, or haapai or vavau. and if you're feeling a little more adventurous, go over to apia in western samoa. the samoan islands of upolo and savaii are about as close to paradise as anyone can imagine.
