Trip to the D.R. *PREP TIME* : Lodging

Okay, in 2 summers from now, (That is June 2007), My friend and I are planning to go to Santo Domingo to visit friends and spend some vacationing time there. Don't care much for clubs or anything like that. We just want to know what are some good places to stay that are nice but cheap enough for college students. Also places that provide meals, maybe a Hostel, do they have hostels in Sto. Dgo.? Could you provide me with prices and quality? Pictures or website perhaps? Get me in touch with hotel? Atleast breakfast and lunch. It has to be safe and secure. The stay would be for approximately 2 weeks. I've been to the DR before so I'm familiar with much of the culture and the way things work, but the only thing I'm not familiar with is lodging. If you could help that would be wonderful, you have two years to prepare for this, but we'd like to make reservations as soon as possible.

You need to wait until a couple of months before your planned arrival to ask about lodging. No one can say what the costs will be then, and you can certainly expect them to be more than they are now. Also, some hostels and hotels that exist now might not exist then.

I suggest you get yourself the latest edition of the Lonely Planet Guide to the D.R. and Haiti. This will give you all the general information you desire and will also give you some idea of current prices, although they're never quite up to date.

No hotel takes reservations 2 years in advance.
