| Port Douglas | Any advice regarding summer work enquries? Posted: Tue July 26, 2005 07:17 AM UTC
Kia ora guys,
we are a couple of outgoing kiwi lads looking for summer work, from the beginning of november through to early february! we are hoping to find resort/ hospitality work but don't really know where to start. We've emailed our CVs away to a couple of the resorts and recruitment agencies but none have yet to reply. As port douglas seems to be quite a small, "in-the-know" community, does anyone have any tips or information that they could pass on about certain resorts or agencies that might be receptive to our enquiries? Many many thanks, and if anyone has any ideas/ advice, please reply as it would be much appreciated! Cheers, Alex Does anyone have any tips |

Port Douglas and other parts of Far north Queensland are in there *low* season at this time of year. It's their wet season.
It's the season there now, from around June to end of October to beginning of November. Most of Port has backpacker workers there. They arrive at the beginning of June when there is heaps of work waiting. They still have tourists during the wet season , just not as many. The best way is to go there and walk the streets looking for work, or change your plans and look at going further down south of Aus. Cheers Anne
