Hi there!
I am going to work to Volos in August. Would like to ask: 1. where to go, what is worth of seeing... 2. want to spend couple of days in Thessaloniki. What about some cheap accomodation there??( student budget...:)) Thanx a lot! Mascha |

hi Mascha,
there are indeed some very nice things to see in Volos. If you go up (altitude) from Volos you will get to the village of Makrynitsa, which is a very beautiful place in the mountains. Also there is a museum in Volos worth seeing, and two archaeological sites right next to each other: Sekslo and Dimini, both of which are neolithic sites! good luck, xaroula.

When in Volos, take the bus towards pilion and try the excellent camping sites around Kato Gatzea, i keep on returning to cozy Hellas camping with my teenager kids. Also if u have a couple of days free, continue with the busses to Tsagarada village for superb views of the Aegean and a chillout in the eastern side of the pilion mountain. If u want to stay overnight contact my good friend Komninos at "Scala" bar and cafe! Let me know by mail if u need more contact data!
