This is not a question but info: the Train to the clouds has stop today the trips because of heavy problems with the train maintenance. The Government of Salta is thinking even in taken the permit for operation out of the Company hands.
It is the 2ndo heavy problem in a few months.

That's bad news because i was planning a trip to there in 3 weeks, do you have any idea whan it's operative again or can you tell me where i can find information about the status of the train? thanks in advance!

The article says that in principle, the train will stop for the next three months. Maybe less.The operator is giving back the money to those who bought the tickets in advance.
I dont know where to get info about the train since I'm in BA. But if I have new info on dates, I'll post it.

Ok thanks, that's a clear article,i'll be here untill half of oktober so it will be difficult to go...allthough the region has many other attractive things...but if you know more please post it, thanks allready!

You can do the trip to San Antonio de los Cobres with a 4x4. Of course it wont be the same, but even by road it is quite beautiful. The tourist agents at Salta will imagine substitutions easily (money rules).
If I have new info, I'll posted it.

Maybe the site has info given by the Train operator, and the Government of Salta has taken the concesion out of their hands. The situation hapenned twice this year, that's why they have acted this way.
