Hurricane Emily and Resorts

I know G said we were just supposed to post only questions in the travel forum, so I'll tag in a question to make it legit, "Does anybody know how the Catalonia Riviera Maya in Puerto Aventuras fared during the storm?"

Not specifically the Catalonia but most of the hotels in Pto. Aventuras were hit pretty badly. Pto. Aventuras had the most damage on the coast in general and I heard many of the hotels were closing for repairs for long periods of time. All of the hotels in Playa were repaired quickly and things for the most part were back to normal within a week. I hope this helps.

Many thanks. I did manage to find some online photos of the Catalonia after the storm--it was hit pretty badly. Many of the roofs came off. But I have no doubt they'll rebuilt quickly. My brother and I watched them build an entire hotel (from concrete frame to curtains and bathtubs installed) within the space of a week. Many of the builders came from smaller towns, slept on the job site, and worked well into the night. Kudos to the Mexican builders!
