| Bùzios | What is Buzios like in April, May and June? Posted: Thu July 14, 2005 03:09 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I'm Brazilian, but live in the USA. I went to Buzios for the first time on December 2005 - it was fantastic! I'm now engaged and want to bring all my friends to Buzios after a wedding in BH. I have the date set for end of April, but my fiance's sister can't come then. She can only come in June (first week). Do you know what Buzios is like in June? The water was freezing even in December, though we could manage it since it was so hot. I heard that in June it is cold, and very windy, and that there is no one around.. We would be there the first week of June 2006. Is the weather much better at the end of April or is there not much difference? (compare April 26 to June 7). I have always wanted to bring my friends to Brazil, and it is important to me that they have a fantastic time in my country - for that I need good weather! Oh, and we are definately doing the boat tour to the Prainhas! Vanessa |

Vanessa,
I'm sure somebody can answer better than me beacause I have been in US for 15 years now . I normally take my hubby there in July because of his schedule so... Some things to remember... It is winter there and not many people at the beaches and gets dark earlier. Schools still on. The water in that area is always cold(I love it), In Cabo Frio is even colder than in Buzios. My husband likes it anyway but always wonder how it would be with a lot of people. You will have lots of fun!!!! Congrats!! Have a great marriage! Maria

Maria,
Could you get into more detail about the weather in July when you go? I would assume that it is a little chillier than in June. My father said something about the wind blowing sand on you, and it not being enjoyable at all. I did not mind the cold water in December, but am not sure I can get in it in June. Thank you!! Vanessa

Hum I am thinking about this question, but I guess weather is always difficult to forecast :D
I mean, of course it won't be a big difference in weather from April to June! But generally Brazil and around Rio it is even then in winter months beach weather, so you should have some nice days then! The only thing I found about weather it is a weather forecast and also like an explanation which compares the temperatures month by month: http://www.buziosonline.com.br/home/portugues/ptempo.cfm (I hope you understand still portuguese) Hope it helps somehow! If you have still any question, feel free to as me! Greetings, e beijinhos! **Evelyn**

Vanessa,
The temperature could be in the mid 70s to mid 60s. We normally don't go in the water , just drink some beer and eat fish, do a boat ride and some hiking. It can be very windy and rainy, but can just be sunny. That area is a peninsula so changes a lot. Maria

Vanessa,
I forgot to mention that I think the end of April is better than the first week of June for the weather. Maria

Maria,
I guess what I am trying to find out now is how much better is it at the end of April compared to early June. Do people usually go in the water in April? I know that it is cold year round. Are most restaurants still open in April? Are they open in June? Are there a lot of people there during the week in April? What about in June? We would be there either around April 24-26, or June 5-7. Thank you all so much! (podem escrever em portugues se preferir)

Vanessa,
I'm not that sure for the specifics because I have been living in US for a long time and just go for vacation or family emergency. When we go we always find something open( restaurants, bars) but not many people. April is warmer than June.I was in Brazil at the end of March and was very warm. Noemally if you go near a holliday you can find a lot more people. I just look in the calender a nd Easter sunday is April 16. A lot of people have the week of from school and go to that area, but I understand that is 10 days prior to your arrival. It can get very crowded. Have fun! Maria

Vanessa,
I went to Buzios twice on August (ok, I've been there in other months too, better months...). One of this two times, the weather was terrible. It rain'd and the beach was so windy... anyway, we could shop and go to nice restaurant in Rua das Pedras with tranquility. The other time, it was warm even though it was still winter. So... Ask Al Gore. :)
