It has been relatively overcast in the north of Italy over the last week, but there have been several days of sun. Winds are quite strong as well. I expect more of the same this week. Weather forecasts give a generally sunny to cloudy outlook. Thunderstorms are pretty common at the height of summer, this is abt the only time it happens... something to do with atmospheric conditions mixing up, sorry I can't explain it at all. But even if it storms it won't actually get cold. It might be be a welcome respite from the heat. You'd probably only need a jumper, certainly not winter clothing!

Well said by the previous poster!

Bring a jacket and umbrella just in case, but you may not even need it! Storms usually brew up later in the evening thru the night. Days have been a bit warm and muggy, but not terrible. 90 degrees f roughly.

Enjoy your trip!

Skiing gear highly recommended especially in Riva del Garda...

Seriously, forecasts are unanimous for a new heat wave (sob!) next week, so you'd better stock up on sun cream and T-shirts to change your sweaty ones.

http://www.meteogiornale.it/reportages/read.php?id=1048&chapter=1 (sorry, in Italian). Anyway, it says you may get afternoon thunderstorms, but only on hills and only in the North-East, and anyway it's not a big deal - just jump into the water! (kidding again)

Cheers,
mac
