| Page | Antelope Canyon or Lake Powell Posted: Tue July 12, 2005 02:32 PM UTC
Thank you so much for your very helpful responses to previous question.
Since it doesn't seem that I can do Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon in combination (we won't get to Page until 5:00 pm and leave early next morning for raft trip), should I do a boat tour on Lake Powell or the jeep tour to Antelope Canyon. Would it be cooler on the water? The temps are suppose to be over 100 when we are there. Thanks, Gayle |

Once you are inside Antelope Canyon, it would be cooler than out on the water. Antelope Canyon is really best though at mid-day when the sun is directly overhead. That's when the lighting inside the canyon is so spectacular. I've actually never been there as late as 5pm, so couldn't say if it would be worth it. It will cost you about $20 to get into the canyon. I don't know anything specifically about boat tours on the lake, except maybe going to Rainbow Bridge. Rainbow Bridge is about a 4 hour roundtrip though. I just saw something online about dinner cruises on the lake, is that what you are considering? If you are going out on the lake after 5 or 6pm it shouldn't be too hot on the lake although I do remember nights there being quite warm in summer - about 80 degrees.
