| Guadalajara | Cheap Hostels in Guadalajara Posted: Sun July 10, 2005 07:11 PM UTC
Hola.
I'll be going to Guadalajara in October to study but need a cheap hostel for a few days before I get my accomodation. I have found Hostel Guadalajara Centro. Has anyone stayed here and if so whats your opinion. Sounds like good location anyway. I'm looking for cheap accomodation! |

it's a nice hostel with a very social atmosphere.
a pretty good stay to start your stay in mexico and meet new freinds. quite a few of the people who stayed there when i was there, were actually foreigners living in mexico for different reasons.

I stay at "Hotel Latino" downtown. Your own bathroom (clean) , cable TV and a good bed (can't overemphasize the importance of a good bed.) A couple years ago it was $19.50 a night. It's associated w/ a fancier hotel around the corner where you can pay for your stay by credit card and even put meals on your bill.
I forget the exact address. I know it's south of Juarez Ave(Also called Benito Juarez on a map and turns into Vallarta a bit to the west) and I'm 95% sure it's east of Independencia. I'm pretty sure it's on priscilliano sanchez, but can't be sure. The place always had a vacancy, I never needed reservations. There's the fancier hotel and a nice church with a plaza just around the corner. Get some tamales from the street vendor in front of the church. They are great! To check a map, go to mapquest and "maps outside of US and Canada" have fun.
