As I'm going to stay in Tumon Bay,
I'd like to know: 1)where I can rent a car for a tour of the island. 2)is it true that the southern part of Guam is the most beautiful(according to my guide-Lonely Planet Micronesia)?! 3)Are there in Guam any dangerous(or poison)animals or insects or something like that?!! 4)About nightlife, can someone recommend me some nice restaurants and a nice disco or disco-bar or bar?!! 5)how is the weather around the third week of next august?!! That's all. For today. |

This is the only link you really need to know about Guam (and it just scratches the surface).
http://www.guam-online.com/ The weather is awesome; usually about 85 degrees farenheit everyday. Which end of the island is most beautiful is debateable. The north end has high cliffs and south and middle is just the tropical paradise you are thinking of with waterfalls and lagoons. The only animals that may be remotely dangerous on Guam (other than some drunk sailors) are maybe some wild pigs or the occasional monitor lizard, but I doubt you would come across any of them. Oh one other thing about the weather, please keep an eye on any typhoon reports that may occur since that is right in the middle of typhoon season. There has only been one so far this year so we are due for a big one. Tumon Bay is full of resorts so you will have no problem finding stuff to do and car rental can be had at the airport.

In addition to what's already said, the southern part of the island has more of a "local" flavor since most tourists don't go there. Also watch out for dogs running loose (if you go to the southern villages), and snakes (I don't think they are poisonous though).

The southern end of Guam is truly beautiful, but so is the Tumon Bay area. Don't worry about poisonous snakes or insects. The weather is always HOT. I should know, I lived there for 4 years!
