| Judetul Constanta | Mamaia (Constanta) Posted: Sat July 9, 2005 02:36 AM UTC Hi everyone I'm going to Romania next week :) I'm looking for budget accommodation (hostels) in or near Mamaia. For Bucharest it was no problem, but I've searched on google and haven't found anything in Mamaia yet. Does anyone know? Lukas |

Hi,
I can help you. In this time in Mamaia it is a real problem with accommodation. It is very well if i fiind for you a room with two beds at two-three stars hotel with Euro 43-50 / night. Also it is possible to hire a room in Constanta in a private apartaments. This is a cheap way, the price is Euro 20-30. Best regards, Sandu

There are no hostels in Constanta. Try www.antrec.com (or .ro not sure which). As said before it will be more difficult to find accomodation right now since it is the tourist season. But you can always go without prebooking and true to find private accomodation at someone's home. That shouldn't cost you more then 10-15 euro per night. If you want to stay longer, an appartment might be worth it if the prices of 40 euro aren't per night (as i've seen in some places)

Thanx for the suggestions.
Silly question: How do I find private accommodation? I've never done that before.

We had no problem finding private accomodation. People kept offering it to us. Just check the place out and decide whether you like it. If not decline politely. You can find people offering rooms at the trainstation and busstation for sure. But also on the streets (we had that several times). Just look for people who have little signs in their hands when you get of the station. And negotioate. They'll start with a higher price because you're a foreigner. But you should for sure not pay more then 15 euro and that is the absolute maximum. I haven't paid that much ever yet.
