Picific Grove is a lovely victorian style type of a quaint town, right on the Pacific Ocean, with a magnificent coastline to walk. Your asking about the Inn at 213 and I believe it is a bit far to walk aroung the town area without driving to it, unless you are very fit and use to walking distances. If you go, you must try the Bath House restaurant for not only the food but the view.

Thanks travel gourmet!
Am also looking at the Sand Rock Farm (a B&B) outside of Santa Cruz- supposed to be a gourmet, great breakfast. Nancy

the PG and Santa Cruz experiences are going to be quite different, now. Santa Cruz will provide the surfer/relaxed beach lifestyle in an upscale hippy format. PG/Pebble Beach is where the wealthy recluse types hang out. PG is closer to the fantastic and meditative 17 mile drive and Carmel. Santa Cruz has the lively night action downtown. Both areas, and all of the Monterey Bay Area, for that matter have a large number of great B&Bs. I haven't stayed at any of them, as I have family and friends to board me up, but by the name, I'll bet it's very nice. Right now, the weather has been very good. Normally, at this time of year the morning fog really casts depression on the scene, but we've been having a extraordinary heat wave this week and I'm certain the fog, if there at all, has been burning off quickly.

Sorry to say I just got back today from Pacific Grove and the Bathhouse Restaurant is no longer in business due to new city zoning codes on buildings, per a local who was just as upset about the closing as I. Try Bahama Billy's over in Carmel Valley at the Barnyard Shopping Center. Great food, great fun.

You know? The alternative is to eat in Carmel. Check out my restaurant tips there. Don't expect bargain prices, but the food and wine list will be among the world's best. So, don't try to economize either.
