Well, this is an answer from someone who has never been to Rimini (that I recall anyway - I've been on a lot of strange trains in my time ;-) ).
If you look at http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/dyn/con you see the drive path from where I think the train station is in Rimini (close to Piazzale Cesare Battisti) to about where the hotel is (the address - Via Dati - doesn't show up on viamichelin.con, but it's probably Viale Giuliano Dati). In any case, the hotel claims that it is right on the beach (which is what this map shows), and the distance from the hotel to the "center" (as defined by the train station) is about 4 km (2.5 miles). However, I have to believe that there are buses running up and down that major street along the beach all the time, and it's quite likely that there is a string of stuff (i.e., hotels, restaurants, etc.) all the way. Hmmmn, it looks like there's also a rail line that runs parallel to the beach not far inland, so you may be able to hop a commuter train as well. So, in any case, it would be a long walk to the city center of Rimini, but a short taxi or public transit ride, and my gut feel (for what it's worth) is that this area is probably well served by public transit. The hotel's website (only in Italian) is http://www.blumenhotel.com/index.htm Bill

Hi, I will also be in Rimini towards the beginning of September. I looked for a hotel, not expensive but which is not so far away from the city centre. I finally chose the Hotel Principe, which is not far away from the famous Via Vespucci, and only 10minutes away by bus from the station. If you want, the site is http://www.hotelprincipe.biz
