DO THEY HAVE ANY AMERICAN GROCERY STORES WERE YOU CAN BUY AMERICAM FOOD.WHAT ABOUT THE SAFTY THERE. HOW IS THE SHOPPING ANY SHOPPING MALLS.ETC.ETC. ALSO DO ANYONE KNOW WERE THE COMPOUND VILLA IS FOR STATE DEPT EMPLOYEES IF SO HOW NICE ARE THEY

There were few, not many Afro-American. There are many Americans/Europeans in Bahrain though. Few also from African.

There are many supermarkets in Bahrain, you can find many American/European food. Try Géant hypermarket for large choice of groceries.

Don't worry, Bahrain is safe, you will enjoy. Although the country/city is small, but pleasant and modern enough.

Most of American/European expatriates lives in Budaiya/Saar area where there are many villa/compound-villa. Jufair area (near US Naval base) also one good choice with its luxury apartment towers.

I assume there were more Americans than nowadays, before US naval central base for Middle East was moved to Doha - Qatar sometimes ago.
