| Kazan' | Scammer or not? Posted: Wed June 29, 2005 05:46 AM UTC
I have been writing to this girl in Kazan for about three months now! I feel it is time to take it to the next level. Here within lies the peril! I know that the average Russian doesn't make a killer living & I would like to bring the lady to the USA for a visit!! How can I be assured she isn't another scammer! I checked the blacklist & haven't found her name but that doesn't mean she isn't one!! She list her name as Olga Kuznetosva from Kazan! If anyone knows or hears of her being a scammer please let me know before it is too late!

"How can I be assured she isn't another scammer!"
Geez, bud, I appreciate your concern, but you CAN'T be sure. Not yet, anyway. I suggest that you go meet her in her country rather than import her to yours. This has several advantages: You get to see her in her own environment, so you can check out her family and friends. This may give you some big clues as to who she really is and how she might fit in with you. You can make a quick exit from the whole situation if you have to, with no strings attached. You don't have to worry about whether your cash outlay is going to be wasted, since you are, at the very least, getting an interesting vacation out of the deal. If you do decide that you are serious about her, you can marry her there and breeze her through US immigration procedures. Getting her into the US on a visitor's or fiancee visa could be very difficult and time-consuming. (If you are not considering marrying her, you probably shouldn't be fooling around with this at all, simply because of the time and expense involved.) Best of luck!

i fully agree with Lance - go there and check things out for yourself. If it is a scam, she will not agree to your visiting her in russia. If not, you will enjoy a beautiful holiday with a sweet russian girl!

Are you actually aware that there are hundreds of thousand sweet russian girls named Olga Kuznetzova? It's just something like Jane Smith in Britain... Brinning her to US will be difficult anyway, the embassy in Moscow doesn't happily give visas to russian girls if they are single. Go to Russia and meet her first, it will be cheaper and safer. You also can have a nice tourist attraction. So, two birds with one stone. :-)

ok, i reckon for once i can talk with some authority about this!
firstly, in regard to her possible being a fake, why don't you ask for her phone number and give her a call? (maybe you've done this already, if so, apologies). this is no guarantee, but at least you'll have a number, and you'll know she's female and speaks english - these three things alone are usually not in place with most of the scammers!! also, mate you have to go to russia first. not only will it be a damn site easier to arrange, but you have to go to the country to get an insight to the girl herself. spending some time there will give you a much better idea about the people and some ways of thinking that will appear at some time in the relationship. also, if the states is anything like the uk, then you have to prove a relationship before you can begin to get her over on a permanent visa, and being able to show stamps in your passport are a vital part of this, together with photos of you both in front of the kremlin etc etc. on the plus side, having been through this myself recently, i can tell you that if she's the right one then it's worth all the heartache, effort, and expenses - and it is bloody expensive! the most important thing is to be absolutely determined from the outset, and don't be afraid to pay for the right advice. also, be completely honest, transparent, and consistent in your dealings with the american embassy, if you decide to bring her over to the states. please contact me if i can be of any help. paul

Hi,
It is impossible to test scammer by her (his) name - it could be any name. (BTW Olga Kuznetsova sound suspicious as it is like Mary Smith in Enlish). The identity will be good with an adress, especially if she asked you to send money (BTW never do it!!!!! Russia is civilized country and there are many ways to help person w/o sending money in an envelope to someone at somewhere). Check this adress database: http://rus.roses.ru/blacklist.shtml?search=Kazan As you can see the most popular scammers adress is Dekabristov st., but it could be some variations. Good luck, P.

How old are you, and how old is she?...has she asked you for money?...do you have a "gut feeling"...in order to bring her to the US...you will have to get her a K-1 Fiance Visa...you will have to go to her country and visit her and do all sorts of things for the K-1 Visa...visajourney.com can help...
I know...I've got a Russian fiance :-) ....the paperwork is frustrating and it's expensive. Russia is an awsome country and the people are wonderful...I go back in September for a another visit while we wait on our paperwork process.. Hope this helps... tullerbruc
