hallo,

is there anyone who could help me about salary range?
I've read a lot but i can't really understand which is a low/medium and high salary for European/American.
The problem with me is that the company that is offering a position doesn't pay for any benefit, so i will need to find an house for rent, car, and everything else...
the question: I have an offer for about 25.000 real all in...
is it fair or i should give up??

That ought to take care of you pretty well. If you're single, 25k is GREAT!

25000 is good. Because of the following;
1-accomodation rent;less than 10,000+ water &Elect (european standard) you can find less in many places.
2- you need a car New or used. you can buy on installement.
3-Food is relativly good and cheap.
4- I think you can manage.

Did you get any good feed back, I have received a similar offer to work in Rass L, but the difference I am married + 2 kids. Is that salary fair or is not? I currently have a good position here in Calgary, so I do not want to risk that much to go there if I can't save some money.

for what i understood is a good salary, and i hope i'll be able to save money there;
everything seems to be cheap but the rent of houses,
check some web sites for houses, you and your family could spend a lot for that...

For the fellow Albertan, you will pay about 10,000 including all utilities for a decent 3 or 4 bedroom villa without any amenities and not in a compound. A compound is considerably more. That leaves you with 15,000 QR. The exchange is about 3 to 1 so that's 5,000 Canadian/month. The cost of everything else is about the same with the exception of gas, about .25 cents/litre. If you come to Qatar I don't think you will save any more, so it should be to experience a different culture and lifestyle. www.oilcareers.com has some good forums also directly related to working in the oil/gas industry in Qatar.
