Iquitos
Muyuna www.muyuna.com Had an incredible experience there a few short weeks ago. They have guides who speak English fluently and clearly. Good food, good people.

Im an Irish guy too.
I was in Iquitos for a while last year. I just walked into a couple of agencies there. I told them exactely what i wanted to do and asked to see some credentials. You can go to a lodge and take it from there but a far better option in my opinion is to get a guide with his own boat and he will take you quite far up the amazon (5-6 days is great). U can sleep on the boat or stop anywhere u want. I eneded seeing everything i wanted and even won some money playing a football match. The guides name who took me was Percy (cant think of his sirname) hes mentioned in footprint guide. I paid $40 a day but u could definetely get it for less. If u take a bit of time looking around you will find exacecly what u want.
