Hello!
Does anyone have experience with Pension Marianna, Pension Omorphi or Pension Dafni (this one is really not expensive...)? I will be staying for 2 days in Nafplio this October... Also, I posted a couple weeks ago that I was planning on going to Kiparissi. Since the road is long and in bad shape, is this detour worth it or should I spend extra time in Monemvasia and Nafplio? Thanks all! :) |

I can't work out which way round you are doing this trip. I thought you originally said you were landing at Kiparissia?
If you are in Napflion it's still quit a way to Monemvasia, over the mountains, but the road is O.k. There are lots of nice places on the east coast between Napflion and Monemvasia. Plaka and Poulithra, also Geraki is a beautiful little harbour and there are rooms to rent but not many. May be full in August.

Hello! I am talking about the village of Kiparissi which is on the ocast between Monemvasia and Nafplio... Maybe this clarifies things since I know there is a Kiparissia on the West coast...

That's the one I am talking about.It is a really off the beaten track place but very pretty and typical Greek. It reminds me of some island ports.Nothing much there except a nice beach, a few rooms if you can find them and the odd taverna.Excellent for doing nothing!

Kiparissi does look lovely, but since it IS such a detour and that we will have been in quiet and quite typical Greek villages since our arrival (Demitsana, Mani, etc.), I think we will enjoy being in Nafplio an extra day or two! Thanks for the tips. By the way, do you know if a day excursion to Hydra is worth it? (I figure in October there will be less tourists during the day!)

Sorry, I haven't been to HYDRA.I do know it is very picturesque with lovely old houses. It should be quieter in October.
Lucky you going to Dimitsana. I am just writing about Arcadia and want to return to that area. Karitena looks a worthwhile visit, also. Let me know about your trip, please. Good luck!! Chris
