Hi,
Heard abt the wineries in the area... Guess we hv to drive in order to reach there? No other alternatives like bus or cycle? Any contacts of the wineries which I can call to get their start/end times? |

I think the main area of vineyards is around the town of Hammondsport. I fondly remember a trip there when I was a kid.. to the famous Taylor winery. It was an interesting place and I'm sure is still in business. My guess is you'll need a car but it depends how close these places are to Ithaca and if you can bike.

Driving is your best choice unless you are an avid biker or have a group to rent a bus/van. Some of the wineries are close to each other, but often there are several miles in between. Also, if you are leaving out of Ithaca, the first winery is about 12 miles out of town - makes for a long bike ride unless, like I said, you're really into biking. Go to www.cayugawinetrail.com or www.senecawinetrail.com for more info.
