Christmas Island Travel Forum

There seems to be only one flight a week from Jakarta to Christmas Island, what are we supposed to do there for a whole week? Anyone been there? Wasn't it used to be a flight from Singapore too?

hey i've no idea. but i'd like to go to christmas island too. actually i know the only attraction there are those red crabs which come out of the sea, and go like spiders everywhere even into the houses.

I was there quite a few years ago, before they tried to put a casino and hotel there, I think that whole thing has collapsed now. Anyway, there are the crabs which make a journey to the sea at certain time of the year. That would probably be about the most interesting thing. In the harbour is very nice, the water is crystal clear and great for diving. I don't know if there is too much happening there and it might be a long way to go for so little which might be had elsewhere

There are more flights from Perth if you don't want to stay a whole week.

Dave, I live in Thailand so I wouldn't go to Perth just to get more flights.

I am wanting to go to Christmas Island also.
I just read that they now have flights from Bali.
I have not checked this out for sure.
It would be nice if Asia Air or someone would start flying there more often and once a week.
