| Albuquerque | camping outside the city Posted: Sun June 12, 2005 03:45 AM UTC
Greetings-
Ojos de Brujo are playing June 24th- @ the National Hispanic Cultural Ctr. and I'll be driving there from Flagstaff- never been to Albq. before. I'd like to go hiking for the day and then hit the show later that evening. It would be ideal to spend the night outdoors too- anyone have any insight on semi-close hiking and camping? Thanks in advance |

There is good hiking at the Elena Gillegos park on the east of the city in the foothills. No camping that I know of though. Check out the Coronado park in Bernallilo. they may have camping there. It's about 20 mi north of abq on I-25.

I went on dexonline.com and got a few more results for campgrounds than I expected. I haven't stayed at any of them (sorry)- but there are 2 tips on VT about the Albuquerque KOA ... it's located in the foothills within the city limits.
This is the address of the page I pulled up from that search (you'll need to cut and paste into your browser window) http://dexonline.com/servlet/ActionServlet?pid=bfu Have fun, and hope this helps :)
