Bratislavsky Bratislava to Ljubljana
Posted: Fri June 10, 2005 12:13 AM UTC
What about one-way ticket from Bratislava to Ljubljana? I am trying to determine what will be less expensive, driving or going by train. I have looked on the www.bahn.de and www.zsr.sk sites, but no pricing info is available.

Thanks!

If this is any help, I took a coach (from Autobusova Stanica near the city centre) with Eurolines to Belgrade (similar distance) for about 1750skk return. I know there is a route connecting Ljubljana to Bratislava so I would check their website: www.eurolines.sk - I can't imagine it's be more expensive.

there're no direct buses or train from BA to Ljubljana, you'll have to change in Vienna or Gyor (maybe in Villach too).
I really doubt train can compete with car or bus on longer international routes (unless you travel to selected destination in neighbouring country). I'd guess VIE-Slovenia can be somewhere around 35-40eur by bus.

There is some pricing info at http://www.slo-zeleznice.si/en/international_transport/international_links/austria/vienna_wien/ . This is only for Vienna to Ljubljana, and in Slovenian currency. Bratislava to Wien is very short, so it shouldn't cost a lot.
