Evening temperatures

Hi, I'm going to Florence on Sunday for 5 days and know that the daytimes will be pretty hot but what sort of temps can I expect in the evening? Wondered if I'd need long sleeves/light jacket.

Will be staying at the San Gallo Palace which is situated in Piazza della Libertà, north of the main sights so if anyone could recommend any restaurants around there that would be great as we might be too knackered in the evening to go far having spent the days walking everywhere!

Evening temps are going to be around 13C (53F) but there is a cold wave in Europe right now and Thunderstorms and showers are predicted for Sunday-Thurs., so I would bring an umbrella or a light coat. The Hotel is away from the main sights of Florence and most of the restuarants are in the historic section. One that I found to be excellent is the Buca Lapi for the florentine steak. It's in the cellar on Via del Trebbio near Via del Moro.

i dont know much about your hotel but i can strongly agree about the great meal we had at Buca Lapi. We were initially a little concerned because on our visit the diners were almost all tourists, but our concerns were misplaced. Have a great trip.

I don't know about the weather, but I totally agree about Buca Lapi. It's excellent!!! The chef there is the author of a beautiful cookbook that I believe is for sale at the restaurant.

Thanks for the advice on the weather - just my luck that thunderstorms are forecast for all 5 days we're there. Hopefully it won't rain all the time.

Oh well, just have to spend more time in Buca Lapi!

Put your umbrella up and sing out loud, "Just Singing in the Rain". Chase away those clouds. Enjoy!!! Arriverderci.

The past few summers have been very hot: last summer it was over 20° celsius at night in June. You are lucky: for the first time in about five years May and June are mild, with warm days and cool nights. It was around 10° celsius last night.

Just checked the forecast again in the hope that there was some change but alas it is still showing rain/thunderstorms for the 5 days we are there Sun - Thurs. I've got my brolly ready but is it likely to rain all the time or isolated downpours?

Expect downpours rather than constant rain.
