Through some complications we are stuck with a dilemma of getting 11 UC volunteers from Los Angeles, CA to San Jose, Costa Rica for a clinic volunteer trip on Jun 19 to Jun 25 at a price range of $400 per person. Any suggestions on how to make this happen? HELP!!!

Don't know if airlines offer group rates, but it wouldn't hurt to ask! Also, you can try my favorite search engine for airfare... itasoftware.com. You have to register (it's free). You can search for airfare within a specific month and it'll tell you the cheapest days to travel. You can't book on this website though. Also, see if TACA has any deals (taca.com).

Just came across an article about getting group rates on the Internet....

Group sites may offer boons to those needing multiple rooms

Usually if you ask for 11 tickets the lowest fare won't come up because they only have 4 or 6 seats available for the lowest fares. You might have to use two different airlines.

STA Travel lists $500 as the lowest student fare at this time. With 11 people you should qualify for a group rate, I would call Continental and ask for the group fare department then do the same for Taca, American etc
