Blue Mountains National Park RE: 2-3 Days Hiking Trip

Hi!

I did almost 3 day-hiking trip in Blue Mountains 2 weeks ago. Without any great experience we did an extreme walk for very experienced travellers. That was a hard yakka but a lot of fun as well.

We started at Golden Stairs, Katoomba on Saturday afternoon. We wanted to reach the top of Solitary Mountain but it got dark too early so we put the tents on athe way and stayed for a night next to the ruined castle. Next day we climbed Solitary Mountain and it resembled the rock climbng more than anything else. It was hard but we did it and at the end of the day we started going down the steepy slope. We stayed for the night at the bank of the river - the only river that goes through the valley. The water is good to drink after 5-minute boiling. The last part of the walk was climbing another mountain, 800 metres high to get to Queen Victoria Hospital. That was the end. The walk is good for three days because then you can admire the beauty of nature and are not so tired with climbing.

Have a nice trip,

Judyta

Many, many walks in the Blue Mountains - there are a few places who organise hiking in Katoomba - one is just across the road from the railway station.

I have been told that it is a wonderful walk from Jenolan Caves into Katoomba - called the Six Foot Track (or something similar).

Keep one foot in front of the other!
