| Isla Mujeres | weather in June Posted: Mon May 30, 2005 09:38 PM UTC
Hello, my boy and I are planning a possible isla mujeres/ tulum trip in mid june but we were wondering if it will be rainy? I know it'll be very hot an humid, but I want to lay around and get a tan in addition to snorkeling diving, etc. the weather websites show some rain over the next ten days, but it won't tell me about june averages (or maybe I am not looking correctly). Anway, any help would be awesome, thanks

We were in those places in sept/oct when there is a rainy season in Mexico. And all we experienced were couple of very short afternoon shower and some stormy nights. If that was rainy season, I'd say you don't have to worry about your tan.

I don't know what daily averages would tell you, frankly. Especially in the tropics where it can dump an inch in an eyeblink, then clear up. Summer on the Caribbean is the rainstorm season. But it doesn't mean it will rain all day, unless something big blows over. Look at the regional maps, try to get an idea what is happening. Otherwise you generally get sudden showers with clearing in between. Raining all day for a week is pretty unheard-of.
Also...it's warm rain. If there are no storm winds behind it, you can swim in the rain.

Are you going to Caye Caulker? We spent 2 amazing weeks on Caye Caulker. We stayed with Frenchie and Gertrude at "The Ocean Pearl". Had an amazing time.
We were in Belize June (2 summers ago) and we experienced afternoon showers and the occassional evening thunderstorm. Mornings and early afternoons were still nice. We got back from Isla Mujeres yesterday (11 day stay on the island). Same pattern. Afternoon showers with the occassional evening thunderstorm; some of these can be intense.
