| Herceg-Novi | Dobrovnik to Herceg Novi Posted: Mon May 30, 2005 01:28 PM UTC
I am coming to Herceg Novi in August of this year with my family. We are flying to Dubrovnik and I haven't yet worked out how we are going to get to Herceg Novi. Can anyone tell me where I can find a bus/train timetable and which is the best way to get there? Thanks

Probably best to get a Taxi to the border, then another (or bus) when you exit into Montenegro.

According to the Dubrovnik Online website there is a bus going from Dubrovnik to Ulcinj daily at 11 hrs.
http://www.dubrovnik-online.com/english/transportation_coach.php Might be wise to check with the Dubrovnik bus station: +385 20 357 020

I know of a bus that supposely goes from Dubrovnik at 10 am and ends in Bar going around Kotor Bay. It's also stopping in Herceg Novi.
For more information you could look in the lonely planet eastern europe guide, new edition! I count on using that bus!

| Herceg-Novi | RE: Dobrovnik to Herceg Novi Posted: Wed June 15, 2005 08:39 PM UTC Sorry but I think there is only one bus from Dubrovnik to Montenegro and it leaves at 11.00am. I caught it this time three weeks ago and a one way ticket to Herceg-Novi was 60 Kuna I think. Journey time to the border is about 40 minutes and then you walk across the border carrying your own luggage. It sounds a bit like checkpoint charlie but it's not a big deal really - just don't a suitcase with no wheels or something, it's a good few hundred metres of walking (downhill mind) to the cluster of porta cabins and caravans that is Montenegrin Passport Control... :) You then catch a Montenegrin bus to the coastal destination of your choice Michael

You can get a taxi driver from Montenegro to meet you at Dubrovnik Airport. He'll take you directly across the border to Herceg Novi for 35 Euros. Contact the Hotel Perla in Herceg Novi, they can give you the contact details.
