Can anyone please tell me do U.K. citizens get free medical care when on holiday in Jersey or must I take out Travel Insurance for my long weekend break.

I guess you are talking about the UK Government reimbursing you. I doubt that you would get any free care in the US. Millions of Amercians have no insurance and get care only when they drop over. Then they have to pay later.

I think the poster means Jersey as in one of the Channel Islands.

Jersey has a free emergency (and nearly emergency) care for UK citizens. Present yourself to A&E at the general hospital for treatment. You will be treated quickly and in a professional manner. At no cost to you.
