Hello,
We are going for a business trip and a vacation to Cambridge (June 16 - August 28) and most of the time we'll stay there. We are a family with a 6 year old boy. Please, do you know what kind of a program we can find there for our son? We have been thinking about biking. Please, do you have any suggestion how to arrange 3 bikes (and helmets) for 2 months? Best regards, Mirka. |

Hi -
there is a specialist cycle hire place next to Cambridge Railway Station. It looks like they have reasonable rates for longer term hire - see: http://www.stationcycles.co.uk/cyclehire.htm Cheers, Jeremy

There are many cycle hire places in Cambridge but the station one is ok. As it is flat here it is easy cycling, but I would recommend you cycle to Grantchester from Newnham. The cycle path takes you along the river and when you get there (journey no longer than 15 minutes) stop for a drink and cake at the Orchard garden. Just ask someone where it is.
We have a public swimming pool also on parkers Peice which has fun sessions (search for Parkside Pools cambridge for timetable) with two good flume rides, and a small pool.
