I am going to St Marten next week. Anyone been there? Restaurants? Beaches?

Across from the Maho Beach hotel is the Casino. Just to the left is a small road. Across the road is a very loud drag show. (I don't know about the food) About 50 yds up the road is a small Italian restaurant that has EXCELLENT pastas, white and red sauces as well as their pizza.
There is a great French restaurant about 200 yds past the border into the french side that serves huge Fois Gras.
I was not impressed with the food at La Sammana but there were great deli's in the Orient Bay area. There is a Patisserie in the Magot dock area that has a yellow building and white fencing that has THE BEST service on the island.
Lots of street side BBQ's in the area on sunday also.

There are lots of great restaurants in Grand Case. Alabama is excellent. The restaurants in Marigot are good but not great. Check out my pages for more suggestions. As for beaches, the dutch side was hit quite badly by hurricaines. My favorite beach is Dawn Beach. The beach across from the airport on the dutch side is noisy.
