I was wondering the same thing. We visited Aswan last year and we knew this would make an ideal retirement location. Our daughter loved it too. Can foreigners purchase property and a house in Egypt overall?
Thanks

I have not ever heard of anyone retiring there.Watched many property programmes where people go abroad and I must say never ever saw any on Egypt.Never heard of people retiring there.Only heard of people buying in Turkey and Tunisia and Morrocoo but not Egypt.

Hi,

From my understanding, yes it is possible to buy property there. I am not sure if it also requires and Egyptian to own it as well though. I think it doesn't but I am not sure. I do know of people who have moved to Egypt to retire or just to live permanently and it is not an uncommon thing. Some things to consider though, if one is retiring are things like quality of health care and mobility. Sorry I am not of much more help but I think it is possible and wish you the best of luck.
