Manuel Antonio is very nice to stay a few days, but ten days are too long. if you have booked in 1 hotel, you can only drive or take a bus along the coast. A drive to Dominical is 1.5 hours. But 30 kilometers before you have a small town next to the beach. I have forgotten the name, but the sign says, "the most popular place in the world, but the world doesn't know". It is a small village with a beautifull beach (almost no people), and if you take a walk of 1 hour,, you can go up the mountain a see beautifull views. There is a belgian that has cabinas there.
In Manuel antonio, a nice thing to do is rent a canoe, you can paddle between crocodiles there. Maybe it is better to arrange that tour in Quepos.
If you haven't booked in one hotel, and ren-ting a car, you can do a lot more...

We are also going to MA on June 15-23 from Phoenix, Arizona. I have been reasearching the area for several months. We are most excited about the Four Trax tour. It is a tour of the mountains, on quads. It includes lunch and a stop for a swim (3 hours). Our friends took the tour last year and said it was a blast. Also the Canopy Safari is a must. We are going to the marina to arrange a deep sea fishing trip with a few other people. The trip is very expensive so we will negotiate with the tour operator to schedule us at a time he is taking 3 or 4 other people so the price can be divided between all. And we are going white water rafting (slow level) in the river.

We are staying at the Costa Verde and renting a 4WD Suzuki. So the rest of the time we will be driving around, sightseeing, eating and drinking!

Our flight from Phoenix doesn't get in until 10 pm so one night in San Jose, one day driving to MA, 5 full days in MA, one day to drive back to San Jose and do some sightseeing there and then fly home on 23rd.

I also have a list of good restaurant recommendations from this board and other boards if you want it.

Thanks for the insight. Upon making our reservation and looking further into the matter my crew and i will only be there a few days before moving onto Jaco. If you have anymore info regarding viewing crocodiles in canoes or the jaco area your help would be appreciated.

I don't know about canoes but you can see a bunch of crocs from the bridge at I think it's called Rio Tarcoles.Try the restaurant at Costa Verde-Good food-good price and have a drink in the airplane bar up the road. There are some good cantinas by the Park entrance, don't forget to bring alittle cash for some after beach adult beverages.I agree with the person who said 10 days is to much in one spot.Usually I tell people they have too much planned when they tell me they've got two days each in 5 different cities 3-4 days is plenty for MA. Peronally I would rather head south to Dominical or further than go to Jaco.Try villa Gaia down around playa totugas-A really deserted beach-Maybe you'll see some turtles on the beach though it might be early---Jah love

I'm sure you'll have fun even if it's the rainy season.

By the way, if you want to visit Manuel Antonio Park, I suggest to go with Paul from <a href="http://www.nature-adventures-tours.com&quot;>Nature Adventures</a>. My girlfriend and I had such a good time visiting the park with him!
